January 31, 2024- The Joint Commission (TJC) is a medical standards regulatory agency in the U.S., and maintaining accreditation by TJC highly sought after by healthcare organizations. To maintain accreditation, healthcare facilities are inspected at least once every three years to ensure that TJC standards are continuously being met. Healthcare organizations should ensure medical equipment is managed (in good working condition, cleaned, properly stored), that there is safe and effective distribution of medications, proper sterilization and infection control in medical settings, and more to keep accreditation from TJC.
