“All In” – the theme of McKesson Medical-Surgical’s recent national sales meeting in Las Vegas, Nev. – combined several layers of meaning.
“The theme reflected our strong belief that our success is born out of both the personal commitment of each team member and the full organizational commitment from McKesson as a whole,” said Gary Corless, chief operating officer. “The ‘All In’ theme also spoke to the coming together of two great teams into one for the good of our customers and partners.” McKesson completed its acquisition of PSS World Medical in February 2013.
The McKesson Medical-Surgical executive team’s primary message at the meeting was one of customer focus and growth, said Corless. “We highlighted the many significant successes in our first year as a combined company, and we looked to the years ahead. Our ability and willingness to invest in our customers and our people is unrivaled.”
The company’s key challenges in the rest of 2014 and 2015 are also its opportunities, he said. “We are paid to solve problems; not every company can solve them.
“Healthcare providers, payers and partners need a company and a sales rep that can help them understand and navigate a world that includes continued consolidation, swings in utilization and uncertainty. We are making strategic investments in tools for our customers, support for our sales force and programs for our partners – all with the intent to help improve the health of customers and their business. Our reps will respond by getting to know their customers’ clinical and business problems and utilizing our tools to help solve them.”
