August 14, 2026 – AdventHealth and Intermountain Health have signed a definitive agreement to form their Denver-area joint venture, the next step in a deal that would place eight hospitals under AdventHealth management.
The systems signed a letter of intent July 21 and formalized the definitive agreement Aug. 6. The transaction is expected to close in early 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
The proposed affiliation will bring together AdventHealth’s five hospitals in the Denver area (AdventHealth Avista, AdventHealth Castle Rock, AdventHealth Littleton, AdventHealth Parker, and AdventHealth Porter, along with offsite emergency and urgent care centers and dozens of medical practices) and three Intermountain hospitals (Good Samaritan Hospital, Lutheran Hospital and Platte Valley Hospital, along with their related physician practices and clinics).
Under the agreement, AdventHealth will manage and lead daily operations, utilizing its whole-person care approach and aligned care platforms to support a connected experience for patients and care teams across the area.
Intermountain Health’s Saint Joseph Hospital and affiliated clinics are not included in this joint venture. These facilities remain committed to their Catholic mission: We reveal and foster God’s healing love by improving the health of the people and communities we serve, especially those who are poor and vulnerable. Intermountain continues to explore options for Saint Joseph Hospital and affiliated clinics, including potential partnerships.
