May 12, 2025- In response to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB)’s request for information (RFI), Premier submitted ideas on ways to reduce administrative burden for healthcare providers and streamline patient care. OMB’s RFI is in response to President Trump’s executive order that requires the rescission of 10 regulations for every new one issued, according to Premier.
In its comments, Premier identifies existing regulations that create unnecessary administrative burden, increase healthcare costs and divert resources away from patient care without a demonstrated improvement in quality or outcomes. These include regulations relating to skilled nursing facilities, Medicare conditions of participation, the Medicare Shared Savings Program, Medicare payment processes, quality measurement, tech-enabled healthcare, telehealth flexibilities, the hospital-at-home program, practice limitations, Quality Management Maturity Program and biosimilars.
