Bovie now offers a comprehensive, gynecologic, LEEP procedure system available exclusively through distribution. The system includes the Bovie Specialist-PRO-G – a complete mobile electrosurgery package with smoke evacuation and the Colpo-Master™ line of colposcopes.
Greater efficiency, better outcomes
The Bovie LEEP System provides the full GYN package from one manufacturer. By providing the complete solution, Bovie expects to improve the operating efficiency of the distributor representative by simplifying their quest for the right products in their customers practice. Utilizing the Bovie system gives the physician the complete set of tools to perform colposcopy examinations and surgical LEEP procedures.
Bovie Colpo-Master™ colposcopes have up to 27x magnifications, providing the GYN with superior visualization of the cervix or examination site. This is seven times more magnification than competitive colposcopes available to distribution. The additional magnification makes it easier to identify suspicious lesions early on, and early detection promotes better patient outcomes.
Probing sales questions
- “If you could replace one piece of equipment in your practice, what would it be?”
- It is estimated that over 80 percent of the time, your GYN customer will respond with his or her colposcope. (If a solution other than a colposcope is required, you can offer any of your other products that are appropriate for the GYN.)
- “Do you perform cervical exams and/or procedures?”
- This probing question helps sales representatives determine if their customers require a full LEEP system, as well as the type of colposcope that best meets their needs.
Some doctors may object to the cost of purchasing new equipment. Respond by asking, “Doctor, how often do you think you would use this piece of equipment if you could afford it?” The sales representative can share reimbursement figures, available from their Bovie representative, and calculate the customer’s potential return-on-investment to demonstrate the value-added benefits of the particular product. Even if the instrument is used only once or twice each week, the doctor will quickly recover his or her costs.
To cut costs, some doctors believe they can get by with the center-post colposcope model for surgical procedures. Ask the customer, “Doctor, while you could get by with the center post design, is it a good idea given that you likely will be using this scope for the next ten years?” The center-post design offers the same superior magnification as the swing-arm model; however the center-post blocks access to the surgical area. The swing-arm units allow unfettered access to the patient and room to work with the surgical and smoke evacuation equipment.
