June 6, 2025- Premier submitted a statement for a June 5, 2025 hearing the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee held to explore barriers to supply chain modernization. In its statement, Premier urged the committee to implement policies that would strengthen the nation’s access to essential goods, particularly medical equipment and pharmaceuticals vital to patient care. Specifically, Premier recommended that the committee consider the following measures:
- Utilizing trade and tax policy levers to bolster supply chain resilience for healthcare;
- Embracing AI’s role in supply chain modernization;
- Securing America’s tech stack and catalyzing technological leadership; and
- Ensuring critical supply chains are secure against foreign cyber threats.
