October 22, 2024- Intermountain Medical Center in Murray is the first hospital in the nation to perform a new minimally invasive procedure to treat patients who have aortic aneurysms that can be deadly if they rupture using a new FDA-approved device that paves the way for patients in Utah and across the country to benefit from this life-saving technology.
The new device and minimally-invasive procedure eliminate the need for patients to undergo major surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm – a bulge in the aorta, the main artery that carries blood from the heart to the body. Aneurysms are dangerous because they can burst and cause life-threatening bleeding.
