Using Content to Your Advantage
As I started writing this Publisher’s Letter it struck me how fast time flies, and that we are four months in to 2017. As you know, we have been writing about MACRA the better part of nine months. Yet, the last stat I read was that less than 45 percent of physicians have heard the term MACRA.
I am not trying to beat a dead horse here, but this is your opportunity to be a hero and save the 55 percent of physicians that need to sign up and start measuring. Although the actual payment reform doesn’t affect reimbursement until 2019, physicians must sign up for MIPS or APM, and have a minimum of 90 days of quality measures recorded in 2017.
So my challenge to you this month is to read the MACRA content on MIPS and list out 3-5 bullet points to share with each of your accounts. You don’t need to be an expert on the subject – you just need to share with them the urgency to sign up and give them this website to get started: https://qpp.cms.gov/
This is probably the single most important topic a practice serving Medicare patients has faced in 25 years. Use it to your advantage! It is content selling at its finest.
