Each year, Repertoire Editor Mark Thill does a feature story on the latest inductee into the Medical Distribution Hall of Fame. This year it’s Brad Connett, vice president and general manager, Henry Schein Medical.
For those who don’t know Brad, please take the time to read this article. For those who do know Brad, please take the time to read this article. Through hard work and dedication, he has helped shape the industry we all work in today. Yet with all that he’s accomplished as a leader in medical distribution, his humility is still clearly evident, as well as his desire to elevate those around him.
Brad is a one-of-a-kind individual. During this year’s Henry Schein national sales meeting, I was honored to surprise Brad with the award by presenting it to him in front of his team. Brad had no idea this was on the agenda. Still, in typical Brad fashion, he walked onto the stage, accepted the award professionally and with complete humility. When he addressed the 2,000 in attendance, his first comments focused on the people that got him to where he is today. He also told his team that leading people is a gift. The only way we get to keep our gifts is to give them back, he said. Helping others to become leaders and grow in their careers is one of Brad’s missions in life.
In an industry full of wonderful people, Brad is one of the best. I would like to take the opportunity to thank him for his leadership through his service at HIDA, Roane-Barker, and Henry Schein, as well as his support of Repertoire and MDSI over the last 23 years.
The industry will honor/roast Brad at the annual Hall of Fame dinner on June 2, 2016, in Atlanta, Ga. This event raises money for the charity of the inductee’s choice. For those that cannot attend the event, we will post a video on the Repertoire YouTube channel following the dinner.
