June 18, 2026- Baptist Health Paducah is investing $19 million to expand and renovate its Surgical and Central Sterile departments as it works to meet growing demand for advanced surgical procedures and improve access to care across western Kentucky. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2027.
Plans call for the addition of two new da Vinci robotic operating rooms and a Siemens biplane operating room designed for advanced endovascular procedures. The project also includes a significant expansion of the hospital’s Central Sterile department, with new sterilization equipment, washers, disinfectors and instrument-processing technology.
Hospital leaders said the investment will help support increasing surgical volumes. In 2025, Baptist Health Paducah performed more than 14,000 surgeries, including more than 1,700 robotic procedures. The addition of three operating rooms is expected to increase efficiency and expand patient access to advanced surgical care.
“This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, advanced surgical care for our patients,” said Kenny Boyd, president of Baptist Health Paducah.
The hospital currently offers robotic-assisted surgery across multiple specialties, including general surgery, gynecology, urology, cardiology, thoracic surgery and neurosurgery. Ray Black & Son will serve as general contractor for the project.
