Med/Surg Bedtime Stories
Explaining how better tools lead to better patient care.
Max Carter was not your average 12-year-old.
While other kids were thinking about weekend plans, Max was visiting a special place in the doctor’s office – the lab!
Inside his backpack were brochures, sample items, and his best helper – a shiny blue pen named Scout.
“This is going to be interesting,” Scout said excitedly.
Max smiled. “The lab does important work.”
Tiny Samples. Big Answers.
Max and Scout were greeted by Lisa, the lab manager.
“Hi, Max! We’re so glad you came by.”
Lisa showed them around.
“We use these tools every day to help doctors find answers,” she said.
Scout looked at a small machine.
“What does that do?”
“It analyzes blood in just a few minutes,” Lisa explained.
“Quick results mean we can help patients faster.”
Max nodded.
“Better tools help you do your job even better.”
“Exactly!” Lisa said.
Better Tools. Better Care.
Before they left, Lisa said,
“When our tools work well, we can give better care. That means healthier patients.”
Scout puffed up with pride.
“So what we do really matters.”
Max clipped Scout back onto his shirt.
“It sure does,” Max said.
“We help the lab help patients.”
“Another great day,” Scout said.
“Shall we write down our notes?”
“Let’s do it,” Max replied.
“There’s always more to learn and more people to help.”
And with that, Max and Scout headed out – ready for their next stop and another way to make a difference.
