January 7, 2025- January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Since 2010, the U.S. Department of State has dedicated the month of January to raise awareness about human trafficking and to educate the public about identifying and preventing the crime. An estimated 27.6 million people are subject to human trafficking around the world, including both adults and children, according to the U.S. Department of State. The United States has worked to implement the “3P” paradigm to prevent human trafficking, protect victims, and prosecute traffickers through the passage of anti-trafficking laws.
