November 3, 2026- Novant Health and Mount Zion Baptist Church have broken ground on a new multispecialty medical office building in southeast Greensboro, North Carolina, marking the next phase of a partnership aimed at expanding access to healthcare services in the community.
The Novant Health Zion Hills Medical Plaza will be located next to Mount Zion Baptist Church on Alamance Church Road. Expected to open in spring 2028, the facility will offer primary care and specialty services, including women’s health, pediatrics, diabetes management, heart and vascular care, and advanced imaging. An on-site community health worker will also help patients address barriers to accessing care.
The project builds on a partnership announced in 2025 between Novant Health and Mount Zion Development Company, the church’s development arm, to bring healthcare services closer to residents of southeast Greensboro.
Novant Health is already providing services at the church campus through a mobile care cruiser offering primary care and diabetes management on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A virtual care kiosk inside the church also connects patients with Novant Health clinicians, helping reduce transportation barriers.
In addition to expanding healthcare access, the medical plaza is expected to create more than 60 full-time jobs and contribute to economic development in Guilford County.
