May 11, 2026 – Prime Healthcare has completed the acquisition of 214-bed Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, following unanimous approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board and strong praise from board members, elected officials, and community representatives for Prime’s commitment to preserving and strengthening healthcare in Illinois through investment, service-line expansions, and commitment to patient-centered, quality care.
Franciscan Health Olympia Fields (IL) is Prime’s ninth in Illinois and 55th overall.
Prime Healthcare previously entered an agreement in January to acquire Olympia Fields and Specialty Physicians of Illinois from Franciscan Alliance. Prime said it plans to offer jobs to “substantially all employees” at Olympia Fields.
In March 2025, the health system acquired eight Illinois facilities from Ascension.
