August 24, 2026- St. Luke’s Health will begin using the CommonSpirit name in October while expanding its collaboration with Baylor College of Medicineopens in a new tab (BCM) to enhance patient access to medical expertise, research and treatments. This collaboration brings BCM specialists to St. Luke’s community hospitals and better represents the cohesive network of care across Greater Houston. St. Luke’s and BCM have jointly owned Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center since 2014.
Adopting the CommonSpirit name more clearly reflects St. Luke’s connection to the national organization, one of the county’s largest faith-based, nonprofit healthcare providers. St. Luke’s, founded in 1954, became part of CommonSpirit Health following the 2019 merger of Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health.
