September 28, 2026- China and the U.S. have agreed to cut tariffs imposed on $60 billion worth of goods imported from each other, on products ranging from U.S. corn to cosmetics, and Chinese household appliances to toys, according to NBC News. The more favorable tariff treatment followed recommendations from the US-China Board of Trade and would improve market access for about 30% of US exports to China, per CNN. China plans to reduce tariffs on a range of US agricultural products including corn, wheat, sorghum, meat, dairy products, vegetable oils and meals, according to Business Today. The US, meanwhile, plans to reduce reciprocal tariffs on Chinese goods including small household appliances such as coffee makers and toasters, tableware, blankets, bed linen and more.
