September 30, 2026- Walgreens is celebrating the opening of six new Walgreens stores over the past few months, marking an exciting step forward in serving more communities. The company continues to evolve our store footprint in a flexible, market-by-market approach to best meet the needs of the communities we serve. Being the first choice for retail pharmacy remains central to our strategy. Although we won’t be able to keep every store open, closing a store is always a last resort. We closed fewer than 100 stores in fiscal year 2026.
