As a kid, summer vacation, birthdays, and Christmas seemed to take forever to arrive. The next one seemed light years away (although I was too young to know what a light year was).
My, how things change as we get older. Seasons fly, years seem like months and birthdays seem to occur weekly. It’s hard to believe we’ve already passed the 20-year milestone for Repertoire. It prodded me to reflect on the past two decades in healthcare, and how fast paced this industry is. Yet at times it also seemed stuck in a rut. Currently we are experiencing perhaps the most dramatic and radical changes any of us have seen. We are seeing structural and core changes to both the payment and delivery systems. These will impact us all for years to come. These are really important times in healthcare.
It made me think too, that for a long time I have had this platform to share my thoughts about the industry with you. It is a privilege that I take seriously. Perhaps now is the right time to step back just a bit and share this platform with other voices in the industry. I will still chime in with my two cents, but I think it will be good to hear from other folks as well.
Scott Adams, who most of you probably know, has great insights from his experience on both the distribution and manufacturing sides of the business. Having been with us now for seven years, he brings a fresh and frontline view to the industry happenings. Look for his thoughts in this column in the coming months, as well as other voices that may appear here from time to time. I will continue to offer my take as reform continues to unfold, but I know our readers will benefit from a variety of voices as we collectively navigate the changes brought about by historic reform.
Good selling,
Brian Taylor
