April 24, 2025- Surging shares of big tech firms and trade-sensitive companies sent the Dow Jones Industrial Average up more than 1,000 points on Tuesday, helping markets recover after a bruising start to the week, according to The Wall Street Journal. However, in terms of the global economy’s outlook, The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that the global economy will grow just 2.8% this year, down from its forecast in January of 3.3%, according to its latest World Economic Outlook and AP News. And in 2026, global growth will be 3%, the fund predicts, also below its previous 3.3% estimate.
