Co-branded Midmark/HEINE products will be available to customers beginning Jan. 2, 2018. The sales teams from Dayton, Ohio-based Midmark and its distributors have already started training in anticipation of customer inquiries. The two companies announced a partnership on Dec. 6, which calls for them to work together to provide U.S. customers with otoscopes, ophthalmoscopes and manual sphygmomanometers.
Herrsching, Germany-based HEINE has held a significant presence in the U.S. eye care (ophthalmology/optometry) and anesthesia markets, but a comparatively small one in U.S. general medical markets, both alternate- and acute-care, says Christian Berling, vice president of sales and marketing, North America, HEINE USA Ltd.
HEINE USA Ltd. – which has been responsible for U.S. logistics, service, marketing and sales since 1991 – has merged its specialty and general medical sales teams into one U.S. sales team responsible for all HEINE products not part of the Midmark/HEINE partnership, says Berling. Distributors that continue to purchase HEINE products that are not part of the Midmark/HEINE partnership will continue to be supported by the HEINE USA team.
